Stevie Nicks' New Documentary to Debut this Weekend at Hamptons Int'l Film Festival
The premiere of In Your Dreams -- Stevie Nicks, the new documentary about the making of Nicks' 2011 solo effort, In Your Dreams, takes place Sunday at the 20th International Hamptons Film Festival in Sag Harbor, New York. The Fleetwood Mac chanteuse co-directed the flick with producer and Eurythmics guitarist/songwriter Dave Stewart, who was her main collaborator on the In Your Dreams album.
Nicks describes In Your Dreams as "a magical little film…like an old-fashioned rock 'n' roll film."
The documentary includes footage shot in Nicks' mansion in the Los Angeles hills, where she, Stewart and her band members recorded the album. The flick also captures the singer hanging out and enjoying some quirky and fun times with her musical associates and her friends, including Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood and actress Reese Witherspoon.
"We had these magical dinners and we wore hats and it was crazy, and it's like Alice in Wonderland goes into the rabbit hole," Nicks recalls, "So, I think people are gonna love it and I hope everybody loves it."
She said of the experience of shooting the movie, "I think that it's spectacular and…in its own crazy way, it's reality TV. It's really seeing a reality of making a record and a whole bunch of crazy characters that are involved."
Nicks and Stewart will be on hand to participate in a pre-screening interview at 12 p.m. Eastern time; In Your Dreams will be shown at 3 p.m.
A similar screening and Q&A session is also scheduled to take place October 12 at the Mill Valley Film Festival in San Rafael, California.
