He has helped many of his friends in times of distress and has set an example for all who know him as a husband, father, son, friend, and dedicated American. His values of God, family, and country are in everything he does. Whether he was teaching religion, feeding his friend’s kids when their mother broke both ankles, or holding a barbeque for the Fire Department in his backyard, I could never think of a more deserving person than my nephew, Bob Saenz, as not only a Good Samaritan...A "GREAT" SAMARITAN.”

Good Samaritan Winner Marie O'Dell  - (pictured with B103's Kara on right)
This woman has pretty much devoted her life to helping others. She is Mrs. Santa Clause for the last 15 year's for the Fire Department and the local Church. She teaches crafts to the kids at the Library as well as at the church. She is considered the 'Mother" of the Copiague Fire Department as told by the Firemen themselves. She is a major member of the Fire Departments 'Fire Prevention Team', and coordinates the Fire Departments visits to the local schools during Fire Prevention Month, (October). She does grocery shopping for her friend who is a semi-invalid every Sunday, and has done this for years. She does the same for her 86 year old Mother who lives alone and around the corner from her. I can't say enough about this woman except that if there were more like her in the world, it would clearly be a better place to live. I am the luckiest person to have his mother be such a wonderful person not only in the home, but to all who come in contact with her. This can be confirmed by anyone who knows her. I know you ask for Good Samaritan of the Week, but she would also qualify for 'Good Samaritan of the year'. Even Decade.

Good Samaritan Winner James Zoufal  - (pictured with B103's Kara on right)
I would like to nominate James Zoufal as a "Good Samaritan". Jim is our Outreach director here at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Islip Terrace. Jim is a single guy who lives alone - but he is not alone. Jim unselfishly gives of himself to ALL that walk through his door for help. It's not just in his office - it's all over town! He can be running late to a meeting - or to a doctors appointment - and if he sees that someone needs help, food, or spiritual guidance - he stops what he is doing and will spend as much time as needed to make sure that person walks away feeling a little bit more in control of their own life. We at St. Peter's are blessed to know him and work with him. I have seen Jim in action and I know that he is the most compassionate, non-judging, and sincere person that I know. I hope you will choose Jim as your next Good Samaritan.

Good Samaritan Winner Andrew Viola  - (pictured with B103's Kara on right)
I've only know Andrew Viola for a little over a year, I met him through his wife, she is in my Lions Club - The Brookhaven Great South Bay Lions Club. In that short time, I have seen him do amazing things, he is very very very active in his Lions Club, The Farmingville/Holtsville Lions Club all you hear about is what Andy is doing or what he has done, recently he been responsible for opening up the Diabetes Center at Brookhaven Hospital, he has tested over 600 children in Head Start for eye sight problems and hearing problems with special machines that his club and the district has purchased. There are so many things I cannot name them all. He is also President of the Fabulous 50's Car Club. My biggest reason for nominating him for the Good Samaritan of the Week is the INFLUENCE he has had on my dad, my dad has been sick for about 9 years or so, all resulting from Agent Orange from being in Vietnam, my dad doesn't do much whether it be depression or what, but when he can he drags him out, he even got him to join the car club, without a car, but at least he joined. He might even become a member of the Farmingville/Holtsville Lions Club sooner or later. And I think I forgot to mention Andy Viola is also a Veteran from Vietnam, with health issues of his own. If he makes Good Samaritan of the week, tell him not to be mad at me, I just appreciate everything he does for my family, The Lions, and everyone who has been touched by him.

Good Samaritan Winner Dwight C. Blum, MD - (pictured with his wife Mae, and B103's Kara)
Dwight volunteers his time being a Department Surgeon For the West Islip Fire Dept. Besides those duties, He is a dedicated Surgeon, with his own practice. He also found time to dedicate his time to respond to Louisiana to make sure that hundreds of people, doing the clean-up after Hurricane Katrina were correctly inoculated to do the dangerous work that they have encountered. So I nominate Dwight, because he is unselfish and would stop to help anyone in distress.
