Hi! Thanks
for checking in! It’s nice
to know that some folks want
to know more about the crazy
guys they listen to on the
radio. Really, there are
better things to do…but… if
ya’ really wanna know….
I’m a native Long Islander,
having been born when they
called my birthplace “Nassau
Hospital.” I was around when
there was a “Salisbury Park”
and Roosevelt Field was (no,
not an airfield) an open–air
shopping center! I grew up
listening to the same music
we play on B103. Dan
Ingraham and “Cousin” Brucie
on WABC were my heroes. If
it weren’t for listening to
Dan after school I’d
probably be some boring
tie-wearing guy making the
big bucks. Yeah, back then I
made the choice of having
fun over having a fortune!
There are few careers which
offer as much fun as I’ve
had being in live radio.
You may have even heard me
on other Long Island
stations; WHLI, WGBB, WGSM,
Magic 94.3 and WALK among
others. The fun continues at
B103. I wouldn’t be here if
it didn’t! While at WHLI, I
had the honor of working
with two of New York’s
“Radio Greats”; Dean Anthony
and Jack Spector. One day I
asked Jack if he had any
career advice for me. His
answer gave me what allows
me to pay the bills these
days; “Learn something else.
Radio doesn’t last forever!”
I took his advice and
learned photography. Thanks,
Jack!
I’ve been a professional
photographer (my full time
gig) for many years now. But
life ain’t perfect…I
couldn’t abandon my first
love…so I now lead a double
life. After deciding to no
longer endure wedding
photography I took a
wonderful job with New York
State Parks as their Long
Island Regional
Photographer. It’s a dream
job for a photo guy. I get
paid to go to the beach and
hang out in parks with my
camera!
I’m also the lensman for the
“Village Connection”
magazine in Huntington and
have been featured as a
cover and editorial
photographer in “LI Pulse”
magazine. I do advertising
photography and graphics as
well. While shooting
pictures during the week and
being on B103 weekends, I
really don’t work for a
living. I feel very blessed
being one of the few who can
say that!
Thanks again for dropping
by. See ya’ on the radio
this weekend…
Best Things
about Long Island: New
Yorkers all over the place!
It’s an island, there’s
plenty of water for sailing.
Hobbies: Happy hour
participation and sailing.
Favorite Places on Long
Island: Finley’s in
Huntington (for happy hour),
the Long Island Sound (for
sailing) and any of our
great State Parks.
Favorite Restaurants: The
“Golden Dolphin” in
Huntington. It’s great for
before/after happy hour
and/or sailing. Chinese take
out places are great too.
Favorite Sayings: “I live ON
Long Island,” the
non-natives invite flogging
when they say, “Do you live
IN Long Island?”…they’ll
never get it, “I’ll have a
Jack, rocks,” “It’s time for
happy hour” and “The boat’s
in the water, let’s go
sailing.”
